The Maryland-bred champion 2-year-old filly of 2011, PLUM captured three straight races at 2, including the 7 1/2-furlong Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship Stakes.
The next year, PLUM was an allowance winner at Pimlico, and finished third behind Maryland-bred champions Bold Affair and Catch a Thief in Laurel's Geisha S. She retired with four wins, a second and a third and earnings of $128,440.
PLUM is a daughter of Pure Prize out of Dark Hollow Farm's homebred mare BAMBA, a multiple stakes-placed daughter of Not For Love who produced seven winners from seven starters including Maryland Million Classic runnerup, course record setter and seven-time winner of $300,429 Southside Warrior, U BOAT ALLEY, an earner of nearly $150,000, LA LA BAMBA ($110,524 in earnings) and PLUM's full sister BREAD AND BUTTER, who sold for $240,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May 2-year-olds in training sale.
She's had two offspring sell as 2-year-olds - her Bodemeister colt Classic Romeo bringing $300,000 in 2018 and her Upstart filly going for $400,000 in 2020.
